“Division is Dumb”
{1Corinthians 3.1-9}
Re-read 1Corinthians 3.1-9.
We were reminded that the call of the Christian life is toward maturity. One of the telltale signs of immaturity in our Christian life is a tendency toward separating from those that don’t see things exactly like we do. As a group, spend time considering these questions:
1) Examine your selves – does my practice, how I live my life, reveal my position in Christ?
2) Am I petty or easily offended? Do I take myself too seriously? Am I passionate about other things more than Christ? What would these things be? Recognize that each of these can cause division.
3) Do I divide over issues that just aren’t that important? Am I confrontational or argumentative? Do I have to get the last word in an argument? Do I try to shift blame? Do I sometimes not take responsibility?
4) How can I apply the gospel to each of these areas?
