Soul Care Ministry

Vision & Mission

Soul Care at Christ the Redeemer is not a supplemental crisis service; it is one of the ways our discipleship takes on flesh. Discipleship begins the moment someone first hears the Gospel and extends through every branch of the Christian life, until we stand mature in Christ. The ministry of soul care is the ministry of the Word to the whole person for a whole life.

Soul care serves every person at every point on this arc.

VISION

That every person who comes to Christ the Redeemer, whether still far from God or pressing deeper into the life of faith, would have the Word of God sown in their lives, nourished by the Body of Christ, and progressively pruned and conformed to the image of Jesus.

MISSION

Christ the Redeemer’s soul care ministry exists to serve every person across the full continuum of discipleship, from the proclamation of the gospel that begins it to the lifelong renewal of the inner person that sustains it, bringing the sufficient Word of God to bear on the heart, within the body of Christ, under the oversight of faithful elders, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.

    COUNSELOR

    Ben has been counseling professionally and in the church for 30 years. ACBC-Certified, as well as a trainer with them, having earned his D.Ed.Min from Southern Seminary, Ben seeks to give practical counsel from God’s Word. Ben specializes in Addictions and Recovery, Marriage and Family, and Depression and Anxiety.

    COUNSELOR

    Joshua has been counseling for 8 years and started his own practice called Restoration Counseling. CCEF-certified, he earned his Masters in Biblical and Pastoral Studies from Southern Seminary. He offers virtual counseling and specializes in Marriage Counseling, Grief, Eating Disorders, Anger, and Anxiety.

    Associated with the Counseling Center & Education Foundation (CCEF), Mountain View has a staff of certified biblical counselors who affirm that God has spoken to us in Scripture to answer the deepest questions and struggles of life. They connect the reality of our experience to God’s wisdom and the power of Christ at work in our lives.
