“One Man’s (Dis)Obedience”
{Romans 5:12-21}

  1. “What’s wrong with this world? What happened?” These are among the most pressing questions humans ask. How does this passage answer these questions and what difference does it make in our lives?

  2. Is it fair for God to count Adam’s sin against us? If so, how so?

  3. What were the consequences of Adam’s disobedience mentioned in the sermon? (answer: sin entered, condemnation resulted, transgression grew, death reigned, life was taken). How often do you seriously meditate on the damnable consequences of sin? How might doing so help in the battle against sin?

  4. What are the purposes of the law of God? What are the dangers of misidentifying its purposes?

  5. What were the consequences of Christ’s obedience mentioned in the sermon? (answer: gift, grace, justification, righteousness, eternal life). How often do you seriously meditate on these saving benefits of Christ? How might doing so help in the battle for holiness?
