“Entrusting Our Souls”
{1 Peter 4}
What is the meaning of “suffering” in this passage and in the New Testament more broadly? How do we typically conceive of suffering? How might our definitions need to be reoriented?
The word “decide,” literally means to “cut off.” Are there any areas of your life in which you need to “cut off” certain sinful choices ahead of time?
Your house is not yours, but God’s. How might this truth that we are stewards of God’s resources change how we use them? What practical steps can we take in moving away from “what I want and need” and toward “what others need”?
Take some time and think through your summer calendar. How can you plan for hospitality? Are there specific days or nights that work for you and/or your family/roommates to welcome the stranger?
