“Agree to Agree”
1Corinthians 1.10-17
Much of our lives are consumed with the pursuit of comfort—both on purpose and by accident. We have a natural tendency to want to be around people like us. So much of the Western church has been shaped by the surrounding culture than being the signposts of the Kingdom of God in the culture.
Spend some time thinking about how our city would be different if we took seriously the call to be a church that reflects the diversity and reconciliation of the Gospel of Jesus. What would it look like day in and day out for us to be involved in each others’ lives? To reflect the kind of church we read about in Acts? To be a church both committed to deep relationship and devotion as well as to the clarion call of the mission to proclaim to the coastlands the Kingdom of God?
Here are some questions to consider to help this week’s message go deeper in your heart.
1.) What is the one thing you have in common with all Christians? How ought that affect your view of others at Redeemer?
2.) What can we do practically to see others through the lens of our unifying, common bond?
3.) Think of one person you have a difficult time loving, and commit to pray that God would help you see them like he does this week.
