“Prince of Peace…Eternal”
Psalm 146

The four points from today’s message followed the flow of Psalm 146’s argument:

  1. The Primary Command: Praise the Lord;

  2. The Negative Reason: Do not trust the finite;

  3. The Positive Reason: God’s Proactive Pursuit of Peace;

  4. The Reigning Reason and Result.

We also considered how praise and light are connected. 

  1. How are praise and light connected? How do you see this in your life?

    ~Read Psalm 146 out loud together.~

  2. In what tangible ways does your life reflect the value and supremacy and praiseworthiness of Christ?

  3. What are ways we can find ourselves trusting in the finite? 

  4. Of the myriad reasons given in vv.5-9 that we can praise the Lord, where God proactively pursues peace in the world, which do you find the most encouraging and comforting?

  5. How does the connection between blessedness and the reign of God connect as it relates to our call to do the “greater works” that Jesus talks about his followers doing?
