The Communication Master Plan
The Communications Master Plan was designed to make announcements more efficient and consistent, addressing the growing needs of our expanding church. The plan aims to schedule announcements well in advance to avoid last-minute rushes.
What does this mean for people who want to get something announced?
Going forward, you'll need to submit an Announcement Request, either 2 months in advance for Big Events or 1 month for Small Events (more information on that below). This change is not about being strict but rather embracing our core value of Simplicity. Last-minute requests for in person announcements on Sunday morning or additions to the Weekly can no longer be accepted. This helps us avoid crowding our announcements with unexpected items and ensures smoother services.
We've also scaled back some of the functionalities in Breeze, such as the ability for anyone to email or text everyone in the church, again not to be strict but to maintain concise and consistent communication. If you have a ministry opportunity or an event to host, we’d love to add that to the Weekly. This not only broadens your reach beyond Breeze but also offers additional functionality and full support from our Communications Director. Please submit an Announcement Request for all future announcements you'd like to share with the church.
What does this mean for people who don’t need anything to be announced?
In line with our simplicity goal, expect fewer church emails moving forward. Announcements will be added to the Weekly in advance, presented in person when necessary, and shared on social media as appropriate. While some occasional emails may still come your way, our aim is to significantly reduce them.
We're dedicated to user-friendly communication, and we request your active engagement. Please check the Weekly announcements, listen during in-person updates, and respond when needed. This aligns with our core value of Community. We're not just filling space with these announcements; we're working to create a thriving community, and your participation is vital.
What is the Communications Master Plan?
Big Event - Anything that will require additional resources from the church (volunteers, food, space).
You submit a Request.
The Communications Director sends the Big Event to the Elders for approval, since it will likely require additional resources from the church.
The Communications Director sends you a checklist of things they would need to communicate the announcement effectively (this might be a 5-6 sentence description to go on the Weekly, a picture to add, more details, etc.) and provides a date the list would need to be completed by.
You complete the checklist in time.
About a month before the event the Communications Director would start putting the information out through various channels.
Small Event - Things that don’t need additional resources from the church directly (external ministry opportunity, request for mission trip support).
You submit a Request.

A Few Other Things
We can keep sending communication out about something for as long or as short as you would like within reason, but it will take a minimum of 2-3 weeks from the day you submit the request to be able to start making those announcements. Announcement requests that submitted late will result in announcements being made late or not at all since we will not be able to get things together in time.
I hope this all made sense and was helpful for everyone. If you have any questions feel free to shoot them my way at nathan@redeemergreenville.com.
Thanks for taking the time,
Nathan
